Dear Friends,

I’ve been searching for years for an adapted manual wheelchair to assist Olivia with manoeuvring around the apartment. Since moving to France, some doors have certainly opened, but I have to bang hard in order to be heard. Olivia’s needs are so unique that it is very difficult to find someone with the right level of expertise. I’ve been called a bulldozer by many who are not willing to think outside the box in order to find solutions. Their first reply is « NO, we cannot help your daughter, » then after numerous emails and phone calls, they finally agree to dig a little deeper.

As a result, it has caused me months of suffering with migraines caused by stress. My tenacious nature will always prevail, but not without suffering that goes along with it. Recently a very gracious medical equipment engineer met Olivia and was willing to adapt an extremely small, lightweight manual wheelchair called a PERMOBIL TWIST that Olivia could use in the home.

We are restarting our fundraiser to acquire this €5,500 chair for Olivia, as social security does not fund this equipment.  https://bit.ly/2Jd1w2y
