After a difficult Christmas period, Olivia was finally well enough to go for a nature ride on her Koala wheelchair at Wisley, a Royal Horticultural Society Garden in Surrey, on Boxing Day. She spent almost three weeks stuck at home with a chest and ear infection, resulting in a high fever, lethargy, high respiratory rate, and a very cranky demeanour! Her small chest cavity and pectus excavatum make it difficult for her tiny body to fight the infection, therefore the virus takes a heavy, prolonged toll on her.

On December 26, we were finally able to spend quality time together outdoors. The family had a beautiful day out. Olivia and her sisters enjoyed chasing each other around the maze, exploring the beautiful winter gardens, chasing butterflies, and eating scones and hot chocolate by the duck pond.
