On a beautiful day in January, Olivia had a visit from a rep from Quest 88 who measured her so he could build a bespoke walker for her.
It has never been done for anyone before, in the entire history of the firm! This is what I struggle with everyday. I ask people think ‘outside the box” and recognise that there is a strong need for helping children who do not fit a mould.
At the beginning of the appointment, the rep kept saying “Oh, we don’t build one-off projects for children”… blah, blah, blah! I didn’t take NO for an answer and kept pushing!
We are now awaiting the first EVER Kaye walker to be built. It’s double the price than one ‘off the shelf,’ but whatever Olivia needs, she will have!
